Foreword
In my travels of these lands, I have gathered an immense amount of information--the inner workings of cultures, the essence of plants and animals, and the paths to great powers, just to name a little. But perhaps the greatest treasure I have stumbled upon is the privilege to stop and reflect. I am very lucky to be able to ponder about Aislings as a whole, and just as importantly, myself as an individual.
On a breezy day several Deochs ago, I stumbled upon an epiphany. My realization was this: Aislings are so concerned about our distant past in Temuair that we often forget about the history that we are overlooking in Medenia. I raced through the Loures Castle gates and clambered up the stairs to the Library, after which I began tearing the books from their shelves. The tomes that graced the History shelves contained only words of Danaan, struggles with the forces of darkness, and the races that dwelled not too far from my home in Mileth. I was appalled; it was impossible that we had collected so little "new" history since the breaking of the Seal.
I tightened the laces on my boots, filled my pack with supplies, and suddenly found myself upon the deck of a ship in Loures Harbor. I went to the other continent and traversed the trails that our ancestors surely did. I spoke to the natives and scoured the remaining ruins for any evidence of the past. When I felt my journey had ended for a while, I took a step back and ogled at the stack of parchment that laid before me.
I offer my findings to the nobles of Temuair and hope that one day we may have all the answers. Welcome to the history of Medenia...as we know it so far.
