Your Spark by: Audry

Your spark ignited the night,
as you took my hand ever so light.
We danced to the beat of the rain,
and shared a kiss that we couldn't refrain.

It was almost like a daydream,
Lover's Glade never looked so serene,
When you knelt down upon one knee,
I just knew that we were meant to be.

We giggled and played as lovers do,
sharing a bottle of wine rich with honey dew.
Picking the flowers and peering up at the moon,
you take me in your arms and I swoon.

But then there came a time of war,
the goblins were making our village poor.
You rushed to join in on the fight,
I sobbed as you disappeared out of sight.

War cries could be heard for miles,
the women and children hid their smiles.
Fore when the sun finally rose again,
we lost many good brave men.

You promised you'd write me as you could,
but a letter never arrived and never would.
My love! My heart! Please say it isn't so!
Why did you have to leave me all alone?

A Deoch passed when I realized my womb had grown,
and when she was born, a new love was well- known.
She has your eyes and your wild smile,
I think I'll hold onto her spark for a while.

It is both of our sparks that make her shine,
and sometimes when I visit your shrine,
I want to give up and even break down,
but then I look at her and the stars no longer frown.

Every double-moon we send polyp puppets in the sky,
in hopes you are watching over us as we thrive.
And just know that I miss you so,

Sincerely, Your widow - Written by: Audry
