Space and Time of Temuair
- a peasant's theory by XiaoLei

As simple as I am - a pacifist without skills in the arts of war, in a land of dark creatures that threaten our existence; I've lived my life watching the grass grow. I've studied books and parchments of old while listening to the wind's gentle whisper.
I've watched as friends have come and gone, like crops after harvest on autumn's doorstep. I've seen Aislings spark and take their first step on to their life's greatest adventure. Watched as they rise in power and wisdom, or fall helplessly into the maws of despair. I've written page a many, in a legend of help and need. As one who felt the call to soothe the soul of the one scarred by abhorrence. I've laughed at the rain with blouse soaking - striving to pick the last strawberry while slipping face-first into the dirt. I don't believe in magic - that bunny must have been hiding in the hat all along.
Yet I do believe in wonders, cause people are unique and amazing. The wonders of the Gods, I'll never understand, but I'm ever thankful for their gifts. Especially of creativity, cause I've seen so many bright sparks, lighting up the path in this world of darkness.

I tend to question a lot and to think out loud. The logic of an unexplainable concept. As my hair is sprouting gray, though hardly anyone has noticed, I'm looking back at the most joyful days in my own past, and wish I could relive those days again. Thinking long and hard will make you theorize, what if that is possible, to revisit events, long forgotten in the arms of time.

But what is time and why is "now"?
It seems that time keeps passing - silent, unnoticed but surely. Like ripples on the water's surface formed by raindrops that fell through the sky. It makes the days go by, one by one. Moon by moon. From the day one is born, until the day that one dies - time always keeps the rhythm to make future become present - and turn present into past, no matter where the winds may blow. Time is keeping all and everything that exists together and holding us in place within the space of our dimension. It took me a very long time to realize this.

So what exactly does that mean?
In my understanding of the world around me, it means that time determines where in space one exists and where one does not. Without time, we would all exist everywhere, together with everything that has ever existed, all in the same area of space. Like a goo composed of everything-and-nothing, all at the same time. Thinking about this gives me a headache because I can not comprehend that kind of thought nor maintain it in my mind for long. A universe with a vast space, but without the laws of time - would not be a universe at all.

Ask yourself this; where are you now, where did you come from, and where will you be when you're not there?
The answer lays weaved in the fabric of space and time and perhaps in your own mind. Does that mean the future is already a written chapter and played out before us? Like we are puppets on a string? I can't say for sure, but I believe that we all weave our own fabric as we progress through life.

We can measure time by measuring the fabric of space in how long it takes us to travel. If we walk down a road; let's say from Piet to Loures - our bodies move the distance of space and we can measure how long it took to complete the journey. - That's the simple part. But how can we know that time has really passed? Well, if we turn around and look back, we can see where we have been, turn towards our destination again and we'll see where we are heading. However, we can not watch ourselves while we are making the journey from a distance. That would make sense unless some clever prank is involved.

We can, therefore, see the space we have traveled but we can't look back at ourselves. Right? Right, that is because of one thing - the element of light. Whatever light touches - we can see with our own eyes. But if the light is absent, only darkness remains, duh! Light always travels at the same rate and same speed in space. If it wasn't, who knows what would happen? If we could measure the speed of light, we would also measure the speed of time in space, the exact rate that is. And I know what you're thinking... "Who in Fiosachd's name could run that fast?" Exactly, it will always take longer for us to go the distance than it takes for light to travel the same distance. Right?
Well.. not necessarily!

This could be because of Gramail, god of law and order. The way our universe works and behave in short is because of the laws of space and time - the laws of Gramail. Light is following the same laws of course. But we, as creative beings don't always have to follow his laws. We can travel the distance and beat light getting there as well! How then?!

- We just have to bend the fabric of space itself!
You might think at this moment something in terms of "Space is just full of nothingness, there's no fabric in it!"

To travel the distance from Piet to Loures takes time, that has been established already. The longer the distance between A and B, the more time would be required. That, of course, goes for light as well, even though we don't really see it with our naked eyes since light is so quick on its feet! The only way for us to beat the speed of light is to bring space towards us; bring point B to where we are (at point A)!

- How can one achieve this, you might ask?
There are several ways, think about it. Most Aislings do it every day really, even without realizing, as most Aislings have faith in a god! For better or worse, we worship them, and they bless us for it. We can only ask for so much, but their songs are by far the best way for any Aisling, without ever moving at all, to travel any distance all the way back home instantly. This is what we shall call "space bending"! Priests and wizards have the knowledge and power to bend space by their own ability; they call it Dachaidh and it works in a very similar way. By doing this, (and no - I won't accept it as magic!) an Aisling can travel faster than the speed of light, to disappear from one place and reappear in another place at the same time. For a brief moment, they exist in two locations at the same time in space, which light can never do without manipulating it. So how can that be?

- How can a body, mind, and soul of an Aisling exist at two places at the same time?
Well, for that you will have to bend the whole fabric of space-time! We can only do this so much, just a little bit at a time in fact. That is the law of Gramail as we know it. But I would like to believe, that with enough creativity and knowledge about the subject, it could be possible to extend the period.

So to summarize, I'd have to say that Aislings who knows little about this take it for granted. They use the ability to travel through space on an everyday basis, but without even realizing it - they stop time and enter the fabric of space itself, a place where the laws of time does not apply.

- That leaves me with many big questions. What if I too could enter the fabric of space-time? What if I could learn more about the matter? Bend it enough to make time-it-self rewind, to revisit what time has forgotten. What if this could be achieved? Perhaps we could all free ourselves from the grasp of time and become eternal, to become like the gods in another plane of existence.

Big thoughts require big answers.
But hey, that's just a theory by a groundskeeping peasant!

"Time keeps passing by, always in the same direction - towards the future. Never to forgive, never looking back. All it does is creating memories of our current events."
