Philosophy of the Light - Power of Change ~~~~<~{@

With great zeal, zest and interest, does one think and speak and move when a ever-so-small srad tut, by the name of 'change', is lit underneath ones feet! Srad, of course, because it is one of the elements, which actually does carry within its radiance, the grand element, of light. (1) Change overcomes, it sweeps, and in that motion, there is a love that is sparked. Previous notions and systems of belief can be completely disregarded in some situations as the arrived change demands; love, being the most powerful agent of change, is a force that can provide infinite creatively inspirational transformations.

We are witnesses to loves ultimate power of transformation here in Earth-Sea, particularly those who are initiates of the mysteries of Deoch, who have been taught the history behind the innate tenacity and mental vigor that most aislings seem to share. They will be thankful for it in their hearts and their minds everyday; the spark. The spark of imagination, the spark of creativity and creation, all can be replaced by the word--love. From love, we can find the words to give to another in moments of companionship or agreement; from love, we can reach out for the neatly sealed fruit preserve jars holding the dearly mixed faerie juices to bathe our fallen; from love, we can all use our real eyes to realize and comprehend beauty. Those who understand beauty will find it everywhere. Deoch has shown us through his ultimate love for Danaan, that change will provide the greatest of gifts and blessings. Formerly a being of the darkness, the Dubhaimid deity of debauchery, the immoderate indulgence in pleasures--Deoch's inner light burst through Hell and all of the doubts and curses of Dubhaim could not keep up for at the pivotal date of Danaan 3113, Deoch fell in love with the greatest light there is, Danaan. For a short time after memories of the brilliant age of Hy-brasyl came back to us, Tuatha; the light was brought and taught to aislingkind. It was such an enchanting discovery that towns themselves became illuminated through darkness, that energy ended the most powerful reign of terror to date, the Shadow wars. (2)

Light is around us illuminating our lives, guiding us. As light leads and discovers more to experience, there is another greatness following it... a shadow. The shadow of creation, known to many aislings and mundanes by different names – the abyss, Chadul, fear, death, the unknown. This equally primeval force is the second most powerful agent of change, this darkness seeks to do something to the light which we know not. Perhaps it seeks to consume it or perhaps it seeks to console itself, concepts such as stubbornness or revelry sit in dark corners just waiting for an aisling to become comfortable with them and lose their way; such is even the case with the followers of light themselves, for the harnessing of the power of light brought much societal reform and was darkly-named by practicing Gliocans (and the formerly indulgent followers of Deoch), 'The Great Rift'; the love between Deoch and Danaan. Embrace of change is a mental strength. Strength must be balanced to achieve forward or progressive moment otherwise that which moves will stray off towards either the extreme right or extreme left direction. Thus Gliocans and their Dubhaimidian counterparts, had to work hard to come to accept the irreversible change which gripped life in those times. Work hard they did, for it took the better part of two hundred years of religious wars and inquisitions spurred by voices of confusion and carnage, to see that they were mistaken all along. This realization came at an even greater price, for the guidance of Danaan was gone as she sacrificed her divine light, her consciousness to give all mundanes the chance of being conscious and free from the twists of fate to follow in the light. So the age of Danaan will transfer into the age of Deoch. (3)

Deoch must love Danaan (Glioca), as well as accept her sacrifice (Sgrios) to move forward with the work of the light. We too must love and accept those changes that we define as blessings or curses and everything in between! Let love, growth and change wash over you like the warm Lynith tide and embrace all things within it; be it squirtweeds or your friend's trunks, show the love by getting in.

Everything contains this change within it, "Whether you move with the river or not, the water is always refreshed" - Old gentleman from Undine. Even the architecture of the Temple of Deoch reminds one of consistent acceptance to changing forms and conditions in age-old vessels; Begin with the tower, which is so tall looking up at it might stretch one’s neck. The loving light of Danaan ever glistening over that building covers the lid and leaves the impression it climbs on forever into the sky. Step inside and gaze upon two giant flaming cauldrons, within tasteful but minimally designed surroundings, illuminate the temple ever-burning with the shine of the white fire of the light of creation, the form of this flame is never the same yet its beauty and thus potency is not compromised. Further exploration into the Temple of Deoch yields a familiar masonic design, crypt-like from the days of Finach, a dark environment contrasting that of the entrance with ghostly weaving energies forever racing up the walls towards the glow at the surface. Examples of this alternating flow in design and architecture are visible and apparent in each temple of worship, even the highly stoic and apparently immovable opposing force to Deoch, Gramail stands as a monument to natural and artificial law just outside of the capitol, Loures. As an aisling passes through the finely carved circular pagoda door a sweet aroma and color fill the senses briefly, pink blossoms gently sway in the cool, slow draft. Gramail and his devotees remain steadfast with their dedication to the established system of law, something that the love of change is seldom able to lay a hand on. Still, the cases change, the defendants will be different and the followers of Gramail will have a constantly shifting battle on their hands; the established structure of law will be worked around until a verdict suitable for the representing majority is found. The harmonized octagonal Pantheon here in Temuair illustrates that Peace and prosperity are dependent upon a rigid system of government, something not new to our ancestors as in the glorious days of Hy-Brasyl when the Tuatha were still under one Utopian Philosopher King bloodline. Ruling with wisdom, satisfied by fairness. (5)

The strength and mastery, by aislingkind, of the light has brought upon all of Earth-Sea a phenomenon not previously observed (not by correct public records). A phenomenon noticeable by those interested enough in the public legend recording of the average aisling, a remarkable majority of aislings awaken from their mundane existence and proceed to dedicate themselves -wholly or in part- to the priesthood; through time and with great effort those aislings master the healing and purifying secrets of the light. In Deochs past, the wearing of and devotion to the naohm cloth was something not to be taken lightly for it is a duty that is interwoven with acceptance and progress of the community and without its help, a devotee of the priesthood may not explore seldom ventured trails or hunt exotic beasts in unsettled lands alone. So the priest must rely on a friendly aisling to act upon with sword and shield which they must rejuvenate; A powerful weakness is always complimented by a powerful strength—wisdom. The wisdom accumulated from countless experiences of standing behind others, cheering for others, picking others up in moments of doubt and fear, that wisdom is priceless, for it is the key to every subsequent Deoch and the future of the nobility and child alike. If one were to speculate, one could brainstorm and conjure multiple reasons or excuses for this interesting and seemingly-noble display of devotion. If a basic perspective embodied, this behavior is self-preserving by means of regenerative or supportive action rather than aggressive or defensive action. Providing extensive and specialized care for injuries or boosting morale through naohm gospel are some of the wisdom that priests arm themselves with, in service to their communities. Looking through a more developed and experienced perspective, we see the priesthood as more a leading pillar of activity by means of blessings and gatherings (mass) in the community as well as being a source of purpose and clarity and inspiration to all aisling; the beginnings of all great ideas and transformations. One may make the argument that this trend is simply the effect of individually-minded aislings who would like to keep their figurative distance from the commitment of an agreement or guild or hunting party. Whether or not this change in culture was brought upon by intentionally self-serving etiquette, we must accept the fundamental basis for this phenomenon, which is a substantial increase in the initiation and dedication to the naohm arts. The light of the spark is considerably brighter across many dimensions within the average aisling compared to earlier Deochs, therefore making us stronger and smarter, we have more power to protect ourselves with and consequently power gives way to the responsibility to protect others. Competitive aislings are some of the most devout to the favors and powers of the god of light and they practice them imperatively to achieve a position they believe to be worth more prestige. Love for oneself and one’s community, no matter how selfish it seems, is the driving force behind such a phenomenon no less. Seasoned gladiators of the arena scarred from battles innumerable, depend on forces of change like love and fear to allow them to continue protecting themselves and what they fight for. The cries of fury are unrefined calls for a higher state of being, answered with well timed secrets of divine protection such as the grand mor dion or lesser whispers in mid-swing, of ioc.

There is record of a theory brewing for sometime of a mysterious and not yet fully realized, seventh element, Spirit. Eccentric but interesting aisling, Firemace, recorded an interesting dialogue in which he mentions Spirit (6); encompassing all previous elements within itself to blend together a harmonic scale of sounds and colors and feelings onward with emotions towards new experience and greater wisdom. The coming of a new element will not overshadow the light, the light is to the spirit, what mother or father is to child. The guidance and the nurturing that is displayed by a loving and effective caregiver can never be forgotten or left in the dark by the child. That light is the core of all aislings being and without it we are mundane and lost to the clutch of destiny unable to break the seal. Whatever the future revealing of the realm we must face, the Tuatha will use their accrued wisdom as a beacon of guidance for who have grit in their teeth or hardened nerves enough to befriend or tame what is deemed necessary.

Do not allow voices of your fears and doubts pull you back from joining with those that you love or cherish, accept the light of Danaan and her gift; may the light of the love of Deoch guide you in making those changes that you yearn for.
