On Citizenship

Greetings Aisling!

What is citizenship? On a basic level citizenship is a relationship between an individual and a state. A citizen owes allegiance to the state. In the return the state makes provisions to the citizen of which can vary from state to state.

Citizenship, for most, is not a choice and is assigned automatically simply as a result of their place or birth or lineage. We aislings on the other hand are blessed with unprecedented mobility and choice in where we live and what banner we give our allegiance to.

All aislings are either a citizen of a state or are stateless. There is no dual or multi-citizenship. For most aislings there are five states that one may become a citizen of: Mileth, Rucesion, Tagor, Noes and Suomi.

It is also possible for aislings to become citizens of Loures if they obtain Knighthood. Undine citizenship also exists but is currently unobtainable.

This lore is intended to be a guide to citizenship and the elements associated with it for the modern day aisling. I hope you find it enlightening and useful in choosing the citizenship best for you.
