Semitas Arcana Temuair - The Paths of the Secrets of Temuair

Puinneag Spiorad - Domination of Mind and Willpower

The Puinneag Spiorads are secrets that are both accessible to the Wizard and Priest paths, therefore, the safest assumption that could be made about them is that of the common points of both classes. Both being paths heavily focused on willpower, they are able to dominate another’s will, if the said member is part of their group, and drain their willpower. The wizards, being more intelligent, are gifted with even Mor Puinneag Spiorad as well as Ard Puinneag Spiorad, while the priests are restricted to only Puinneag Spiorad. Monks couldn’t possibly bear such a secret, as they’re renowned for their vitality, and it is very unlikely that a Monk’s mental capacity would dominate that of a priest or wizard. Rogues, on the other hand, which tend to be very intelligent and devious, limit their intelligence to the mundane realms of materials and wealth, and cannot therefore grasp the nexus of energy traversing between Aislings through which to drain one’s willpower.

Puinneag Beatha - Domination of Body and Vitality

One of the least known secrets of Temuair, puinneag beatha restores one’s vitality by stealing it from the creature in front. Whereas the Wizard is the Master of Willpower, the Monk is the Master of Vitality. It is obvious that the degree of willpower required is minuscule, as it only works over a short amount of distance, without having to traverse the ethereal energies that surround each one of us in the air, unlike puinneag spiorad. Instead of dominating the creature with their willpower, the Monk dominates their enemy into surrendering their vitality with their experienced- as the degree of success depends on one’s Insight- , healthy, and awe-inspiring stature - one of the natural survival strategies employed in the Wild, to scare an enemy by appearing to be imposing and fearless.

As no other Path is as close to nature as the Path of the Monk,  no other path could share in such a secret of a purely natural essence. The Wizard could be argued to, but they’re neither the Masters of Vitality, and neither are they close to nature - they are above it.
